About Naatyamayura

Naatyamayura , literally known as the "Dancing Peacock" delivers the music to your ears,magic on your feet, gestures on your hands, the expression on your face. We welcome you to the world of naatya, abhinaya and nritta. The elegance and beauty of Indian classical dance is expressed in a graceful way to the lovers of art. Naatyamayura trains & nurtures the young talent and showcase the beauty of Indian culture.


Naatyamayura, the dream of Mrs. Mira Mahesh hold the head high for keeping the Indian tradition high and valuable. Started back in 2009 in London,  many students from India, UK and US trained under the able guidance of Mira Mahesh. The students were given oppportunity to perform in various stages in India and UK over the years.The class was open to anyone and she has students ranging from  5 years to 60 years. On major highlight of Naatyamayura was the annual day celebration in UK in the year 2015 where Mira along with  her students performed In London for more than 3 hours in front of 300+ guests.


Nattyamayura Kids performed in various festivals in Kerala during the last few years and got chance to perform in famous Padmamnabhaswamy Temple  and Attukal Bhagavathy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram.


During Covid, the students were trained online which was considered impossible for dance. The beauty of the online class resulted in one of her student from US who trained whole 2 years online performened her arangetam successfully in front of Attukal Bhagavaty temple in 2022 and continuing her training.

About Mira Mahesh

Mira Mahesh, who was born in Trivandrum, Kerala moved to Mumbai in her early days and started learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 4 under the guidance of Sir Vikraman Nair, her first guru.

            Mira completed her Post graduate in Arts, specialized in Bharatanatyam from Nalanda Nrityakala Mahavidyala university of Mumbai. Mira Mahesh has also done modelling for a well-known Jewellery shop in Mumbai. Her vibrant personality and magnetic stage presence was notably observed by the legendary Mrs.Sudha Chandran, who further shaped her into the performer that she is today and they started performing together in various stages across India. Her experience with Mrs Sudha Chandran turned Mira to a teacher, choreographer and a graceful performing artist. Trained under Padmashri Smt Kanak Rele, who nurtured and brought her to a stage of excellence in the field of dance, drama and overall stage craft.

          Mira continued her passion in Bharatanatyam after reaching UK by conducting many stage shows and workshops. She has been conducting classes in UK for past 6 years and some of her students have graduated in Dance (Arangetam) in London. She is also the dance tutor in TAL (Telugu Association of London) and WMA (Woking Malayalee Association). She was crowned as Individual champion in UUKMA Kalamela 2014 and also was the winner of Asianet Europe-2015 cinematic dance. She was also one of the judges during Malayali Manka and Miss Kerala Europe conducted by Brtish Malayali in Portsmouth.


Mira played the role of “Kanthi” in the much acclaimed dance drama conducted as part of KCWA’s 40 the year celebration co-produced by Vbeats and directed by Mr Manoj Shiva in UK.
